BENGALURU: Dealing a big blow to the multiplex owners, and keeping with the budget promise, chief minister Siddaramaiah on Tuesday said the government will issue the orders capping multiplex tickets at Rs 200 this month.
The capping of ticket price will be implemented for all language movies according to the government policy.
“From next month, the multiplexes must follow the orders. I will be signing on those orders later this month,” Siddaramaiah said.
When said the multiplexes may not abide by, and especially for Kannada movies they may try to create unfavourable conditions, Siddaramaiah said: “Once we issue the orders, everyone will have to follow them.”
Siddaramaiah said if the multiplexes will not abide by their rules and regulations then action will be initiated against them.
Considering the 2018 assembly elections, the capping of ticket prices will translate as a Congress government agenda to gain popular momentum in the urban pockets of the state.
However, information department officials said the proposal is yet to be worked out and requires clearances from several departments. Read More

Sunil Grover not to join kapil sharma show, despite channel’s best efforts.

The big fight between two of the most popular TV comedians, Kapil Sharma and Sunil Grover, has negatively affected The Kapil Sharma Show, the low TRPs of the recent episodes being its proof. So, apparently, the channel, Sony, has now taken the matter into its hands and got on the task to get Sunil aka Dr Mashoor Gulati back on the show anyhow.
As Kapil Sharma gets ready to shoot on Thursday night with Bappi Lahiri as the guest, chances of Sunil Grover showing up are slim. This is despite Sony trying their best to get him back on board.

According to the latest media report, Sony has assured Sunil that if he returns to the show, his interaction with Kapil will be minimum with Kapil or not at all. It has even been reported that Sony has told Sunil that he and Kapil won’t share the screen space. “The channel is convincing him to return to Kapil’s show now. He has been told that if he comes back his interaction with Kapil will be minimum or not at all (Kapil won’t be in the frame when Sunil will be on stage). In the meantime, they have also told Kapil to mend bridges with Sunil. It’s a prime slot and the show has been popular, though lately, it has suffered a setback due to the Sunil-Kapil fallout,” a source was quoted by DNA. Read More

Sony TV may not renew The Kapil Sharma Show.

Looks like comedian Kapil Sharma’s now infamous fight with Sunil Grover has snowballed into catastrophe; a report by the DNA, suggests that the show is unlikely to be renewed for another season.

The Kapil Sharma Show was supposed to be renewed next month.

Sunil Grover, who played the characters Dr Mashoor Gulati and Rinku Bhabhi last week, quit The Kapil Sharma Show last week

Kapil had tried to justify their fight as a family matter but Sunil, clearly, refused to agree and issued a strongly-worded statement in which he said that his colleague should ‘start respecting human beings.’

After Sunil left, comedian Chandan Prabhakar also decided to boycott the show for an indefinite period.

The entire cast of The Kapil Sharma Show was flying out of Melbourne when an allegedly drunk Kapil started abusing Chandan. Sunil, in an attempt to resolve the issue, intervened, which clearly didn’t suit Kapil, who then, assaulted his co-star.

“Kapil continued his tirade and told them that whatever they are today is because of him. He called Sunil a flop actor, who came to him crawling for work after his show tanked. He also told Chandan that he has work today because he is a friend. Some passengers even wanted an emergency landing due to this ruckus,” TOI quotes a source as saying.

Santhosh Ananddram delivered one of Sandalwood’s biggest hits with his debut and his second film has extravagance and substance that hits the right note. The role is tailormade for Puneeth Rajkumar, blending the right amount of commercial elements. Read More

Priya anand English Vinglish girl excited about her kannada dubut

There are multiple reasons that excite Priya Anand about her Kannada film debut. For starters, Raajakumara has her working with one of the biggest stars of the industry — Puneeth Rajkumar, under the direction of Santosh Ananddram, whose Mr and Mrs Ramachari she immensely enjoyed. While the track record of the production house and the fact that it is a multi-starrer that got her to work with a large chunk of the industry also worked in favour of her taking it up, Priya also believes that the release could not have happened at a better time.

“The Kannada industry has been the most surprising for me out of all the industries that I have been a part of. It is truly changing and I don’t think people saw it coming. I didn’t think it would grow the way it has. There are a lot of new-age filmmakers coming in with different concepts, because of whom a lot of interesting and nice movies are getting made. And what I love about the industry is that there are a lot of female-oriented films that are being made. and it’s not with the biggest stars. If you look at, for instance, the Tamil film industry, you don’t see people making a female-oriented film unless it is backed by, say, Nayanthara. In Kannada you have films like U-Turn, or this upcoming film Shuddhi, which has a foreigner and Niveditha in the lead. Female centric author-backed films are being made with good actors and not big stars,” she says and adds, “This is a very positive direction and time in the industry, and I look forward to being a part of it in a bigger way,” she enthuses, adding, “Kannada is the fifth industry I am being launched in, and this is, honestly, the best platform. I couldn’t have asked for a better start.”

And as luck would have it, Priya’s debut here has her do more than just song-and-dance routines. “Santosh has a knack of handling family entertainers well and Raajakumara is no different. I have worked with pretty much every supporting actor from the industry. The film is a family drama that goes from me going to Australia, meeting Puneeth, and then revolves around our families. Barring the fights, I am a part of Puneeth’s journey in the film,” she says. But was the language ever an issue for the actress? “Kannada isn’t very overwhelming because I speak Telugu and it sounds similar. I can speak a smattering of Kannada now, even though my grammar is all over the place,” she says.
